While the Department is piloting Head of Department – Curriculum for some clusters of schools, it is important that State Council continues to lobby for the provision of Heads of Curriculum for all small schools. Heads of Curriculum will improve consistency of curriculum delivery while schools are transitioning from Australian Curriculum Version 8.4 to the new Australian Curriculum Version 9. This will also assist with the reduction of the workload for teaching principals and free them to concentrate on the important job of teaching our students.
